JK Police Constable Educational Qualification
- For Constable (Armed/IRP/SDRF): Matriculation (10th) from a recognized board.
- For Constable (Telecommunication): 10+2 (with Science) from a recognized board.
- For Constable (Photographer): 10+2 (with Science) along with a 6-month computer course and 2 years of experience in videography/photography.
JK Police Constable Age Limit
- General Age Limit: 18 to 28 years (Not born before 01.01.1997 and not after 01.01.2007).
- In-Service Police Personnel: 18 to 30 years.
- SPOs/VHGs: 18 to 40 years.
- Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per rules. They can deduct their service period from their actual age.
Domicile
- Mandatory: Candidate must be a Domicile of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority on or before 02.03.2026.
JK Police Constable Selection Process 2026
The selection will be based on the following stages:
- Written Examination: Objective Type MCQs with negative marking (1/4th mark deduction per wrong answer). Bonus marks will be awarded for NCC certificates.
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates shortlisted (6 times the vacancies) must meet minimum Height & Chest measurements.
- Physical Endurance Test (PET): Qualifying tests include Long Race and Push-ups/Shot Put. Relaxed standards for Ex-Servicemen based on age.
