Educational Qualification
Graduate Apprentice
- Full time Degree in Engineering or Technology in a relevant discipline from:
- A Statutory University, or
- An Institution authorized by an Act of Parliament, or
- A recognized Professional Body approved by the State/Central Government.
Technician (Diploma) Apprentice
- Full time Diploma in Engineering or Technology in a relevant discipline from a State Council/Board of Technical Education, or a University, or an Institution recognized by the State/Central Government.
Candidates must belong to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, or the Union Territory of Puducherry. The qualifying Degree/Diploma must be passed in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025.
Age Limit: As per Apprenticeship Rules.

NLC Apprentice Selection Process 2026
The selection for Graduate and Technician Apprentices will be based on the percentage of marks scored in the Degree/Diploma.
Calculation of Percentage of Marks:
- If the university/institute follows a specific method, that method will be used.
- If Grades / CGPA are given instead of marks:
- The university’s own conversion method will be followed.
- If no conversion method is given by the university:
- CGPA/Grade × 10 = Percentage
Semester-wise marks: Average of marks from 2nd year to final year
Year-wise marks: Average of marks from 2nd year to final year
Only academic performance will be considered for selection.
